Menyamya District boasts some of Morobe's unique features such as scenic forest areas, where many species of beautiful wild orchids can been seen, sparkling waterfalls and the traditional practice of smoking bodies of the dead. 
Trekking tours (easy/hard) can be organised out of the district as far as Kerema (Gulf Province). The Menyamya to Kerema Trail is one such walk, documented internationally by the Lonely Planet Guidebook.  A 'must' for adventure tourists and fit nature lovers. 

Menyamya Guest-House is located at the Menyamya District Station. The guest house is approximately a six hour 4wheel drive from Lae along the highway. The facility offers budget accommodation at single and family rates. Alternative means of travel to the area may be a 30-minute flight from Nadzab - North Coast Aviation & MAF or even a helicopter charter for the more time conscious traveller. 
The guest-house has a fully equipped kitchen for self-catering, but meals can be provided upon request. It also features single/double bunkrooms including one family room with shared hot/cold water facilities and flush toilet systems. Tea and coffee making facilities are available for guests. 
A cultural centre and local orchid farm are easily accessible from the guest house whilst the mission run Concordia Conference Centre is a fifteen minute drive from the Guest House. These facilities provide additional sightseeing options.

Located 40 minutes from Voco Point this idyllic setting is representative of village life in Morobe. Thatched roofed housing, traditional canoes and subsistence agriculture are an everyday part of life for the villagers. 
Take a refreshing dip to cool off in rock pools at the base of the Bula Falls, a scenic waterfall located an easy 20 minutes inland, next to the village of Gwado.
