Hire a 4WD and tour the countryside stopping at historical places such as the landing site of the first Lutheran Missionary Johan Frierl (1885) at Simbang.

Drive past quaint Kotte villages and meet friendly locals or stop at a roadside market for fresh fruits and vegetables.

Tulip Guest House

Bau Village, Morobe Sub-District.

This guest-house is idyllically situated at the end of the village and directly facing the beautiful Bau island. Managed by the village women's group, they offer traditional Morobean meals with home baked bread, local fruits and kulau (young coconuts).

Tours of Bau can be organised for a modest fee. You can experience village life, culture, swimming and snorkeling. Fishing packages and island tours can be arranged and the Bau island tour will prove to be an unforgettable experience.

Try lagoon fishing for a difference or purchase Morobean tapa or sit back and be entertained by a local singsing group. Travel to and from Lae can be arranged for guests.
